Morning Mashup – Creating Space

Morning Mashup – You need space.

In our world today our minds are 24/7, even when we sleep we cannot turn off the busy or stressed mind.  Letting go can be the hardest things to do.  We have spent our whole life learning to worry and stress over things, we have been taught that the only way to success is hard work, and suffering.  Now, while I am not discouraging hard work, I am also asking that you create space in your mind so that hard work is not the only way.  Life, Universe, God, whatever you want to call it wants you to have what makes you happy.  Most of the time we are fighting what we want and that momentum because we think that we do not deserve it, or feel that we can not receive it without blood, sweat, and tears.  Find time to create space, in your mind, and in your life.  Creating space, is opening up possibilities!  Let God, Source, or the Universe do some of the work for you.

What this means as actors.

In scene work we tend to fill our minds with character work and expectations dependent upon what we think the scene is supposed to look like, but here is the thing, life is never what it is supposed to be.  Find your breath before a scene, create space between what the scene is supposed to look like in your head a what the reality of you being in the moment is, you are free to do anything you please.  When we give ourselves that freedom the work we have done will show up, but only if we give it that freedom.  With freedom comes instinct to live and react.  When we are trying to control the scene and ourselves, trying to see what we are doing from behind the camera instead of in our bodies from our own POV, then we are in a state of worry, worrying that we could do it wrong.   Here is the secret.  When you are present there is no wrong.  Trust in the moment and trust in yourself.  Trust that you have done the work and that

these circumstances mean something to you enough to be affected without controlling..

Create space.
